The Post Office began making films in the 1930s and never stopped.

We hold a collection of over 2000 film negatives, prints, videotape reels, videocassettes and digital files: television advertisements, training films, documentary footage of major construction, animation, interviews, presentations and much more beside.

Together they give deep insights into the growth of telecommunications, the workings of a large Government Department, privatisation, competition and changes in British society.

We are gradually scanning it all, adding subtitles and making it available here.
