0213 - Itemised Bill

A man walks downstairs with a stack of letters. Hoskins tells us he's about to open his phone bill. As the man enters the kitchen, he jokes that he's looking forward to it. His wife laughs at him and asks if he's alright. The man tells his son Adrian that he's received their first itemised phone bill. Adrian makes a face. The woman pours the man some coffee. She jokes to him that the calls to Bolivia listed on the bill were not to her secret lover. She takes the bill from her husband. Adrian and his sister ask their mum what the most expensive item is and whether they're in trouble. Their mum notices a call for £1.92. The kids grab the bill and run off. Hoskins tells us that we can modernise BT Exchange by asking for itemised bills which are free and logs every call over 50p. The man takes the bill back from the kids and admits that he made the call to his friend to talk about cricket. Adrian tells his dad not to hog the phone all day.
