0208 - Call Return

We open in a hallway with a closed door ahead. The phone is ringing. In a voice over, Hoskins welcomes us to 'the 30m telephone dash'. He begins to count down like the beginning of a running race. The closed door suddenly opens. A man bursts out wrapped in a towel. He runs downstairs past Hoskins. Hoskins comments that the man will achieve a personal best. The man enters the kitchen while Hoskins watches on. As the man gets close to the phone, it stops ringing. We cut to a woman entering the kitchen with a bunch of flowers. Hoskins tells us that that she's not in a hurry since she knows to dial 1471 for call return. Hoskins tells us that call return is free. The man is now back to enjoying his bath. Hoskins wonders why the woman doesn't tell the man about call return. The phone rings again. The woman looks over at the phone and heads outside, ignoring it. The man shouts in despair from upstairs. We hear the sound of running from above. Hoskins tells us that the woman thinks the man needs the exercise. He laughs.
